1. What is a cookie or tracker?
A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a site. Trackers also include similar technologies: browser local storage, invisible pixels in pages and in emails, and server-side measurement. They allow the site to function, let us measure its audience, or personalize content, communications and advertising.
2. Who sets trackers on this site?
Nouvel Heritage (data controller), and partners acting with your consent: Shopify (our e-commerce platform, including Shopify Analytics, Shop Pay, platform monitoring and Shopify Network Intelligence — see Shopify's privacy policy), Klaviyo (email), Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Google (Google Analytics, Google & YouTube, Google Ads, Google Merchant Center), Pinterest, Snapchat, TikTok, Front (customer service messaging) and Bugsnag (error monitoring).

4. Legal basis, and how it differs by where you are
Trackers strictly necessary for the operation and security of the site are exempt from consent everywhere.
Where the law requires prior consent — the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and any other territory by default — all other trackers (audience measurement, personalization, marketing) are only set or read after you have accepted the corresponding category. Nothing non-essential runs before you answer the banner.
In the United States, privacy law provides a right to opt out rather than a requirement to obtain consent first. Analytics and advertising trackers may therefore load when you arrive. You can refuse them at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or our Your Privacy Choices page. Where a consent banner is shown, you can also refuse there. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser, which we treat as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
In either case you may withdraw or change your choice at any time, and we act on it immediately.
5. How long your choice is kept
An acceptance is stored for a maximum of 13 months. A refusal is stored for 6 months, after which we will ask you again — we do not treat a refusal as permanent, and we do not re-ask before then. Proof of your choice is kept by our platform (consent ID).

Use the “Cookie settings” button available at the bottom of every page.
7. If you refuse
The site remains fully usable (browsing, cart, checkout). Visit statistics that help us improve the site, personalized content, and advertising measurement will be unavailable.
8. Tracking pixels in our emails
We do not record email opens for recipients in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. No open-tracking pixel is used there, and no open statistics are collected. Outside those territories, our commercial emails may contain a pixel indicating whether an email was opened, so we can measure the effectiveness of our communications and keep our mailing list healthy. You may object at any time by writing to concierge@nouvelheritage.com. This changes nothing about the emails you receive.
